2025 ECOS Fall Meeting

Environmental Inspiration in the Land of Enchantment

The final registration deadline was Aug. 22. Meeting space is now at capacity. No onsite registrations will be accommodated.

Reservations Required for Offsite Events

The meeting will feature two late afternoon networking events in and around town. On September 2, complimentary Meow Wolf Immersive Art Museum tickets and transportation are available on a first-come, first-served basis to each ECOS registrant and up to one guest. Please email Adam Elkins of ECOS with the number of tickets desired, names of participants, and choice of hotel departure time (shuttles will depart at 4 and 4:40 p.m.). On September 3, registrants will enjoy a Sky Railway Sunset Serenade Pre-Dinner Classic Train Ride. This event is open to meeting registrants who sign up during the registration process, and we are currently operating on a waitlist, available through the registration checkbox.

Registration

By July 7 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern:

  • $775 federal/dues-paying Alumni Association

Add $75 for registration 7/8-8/4. Add $50 more after 8/4. Final registration deadline is 8/22. No onsite registrations will be accommodated.

Important Notes:

  • Unless a purchase order is provided, registration fees must be paid in full by 9/1.
  • Cancellation by 7/7 is subject to a $75 fee. Non-emergency cancellation after 11:59 p.m. Eastern on 7/7 is non-refundable.
  • ECOS cannot comp attendees who plan to attend one session only, unless they are speakers for that session.

Hotel

Hotel Block Updates as of  July 17: La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel is now sold out over the ECOS meeting dates, although inventory may fluctuate. See ECOS La Fonda Online Booking to continue to check for rooms in the ECOS block through August 4, or feel free to check with general hotel reservations as to whether rooms have come open outside the ECOS block. Please notify Lily Schneider of ECOS if you plan to cancel room nights at the La Fonda Hotel so she can arrange a transfer to an attendee in need of a room.

A separate Courtesy Block is also now available at nearby La Fonda sister property Pinon Court. The special nightly rate is $229 inclusive of resort fee.

Book online or call (505) 982-5511 (ext.1) and mention the Environmental Council of the States 2025 Fall Meeting to reserve a room at the La Fonda on the Plaza at the special ECOS group rate of $299 per night, plus applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of checkout. (Fifteen deluxe rooms are also available at $329.) Please see additional booking details below: 

  • The ECOS reservation cutoff at La Fonda is Monday, August 4. Reservations received after this date, or after the block is filled, are subject to prevailing rates and availability. 
  • The ECOS room block covers the nights of September 2, 3, and 4. The special ECOS group rate is available three days pre- and post-meeting, based on hotel availability. 
  • Cancellations must be received no less than 72 hours prior to your arrival date to avoid any penalty.
  • An additional charge of $15 per person, per night applies for each guest beyond two people per room.
  • Check-in time is 3 p.m., and check-out time is noon. 
  • Overnight parking for hotel guests is $30/day, with in and out privileges. The parking rate for other attendees is $15 for the first 4 hours, with a maximum charge of $30/day. Daily parking is available on a first come, first serve basis between the hours of 6 a.m. and 1 a.m.

Transportation

The hotel is located approximately 60 miles north of Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ). If you are interested in being matched with other attendees for a shared car rental or ride service, email Lily Schneider with your flight arrival and departure information.

Transportation options to and from ABQ include:

  • Shuttle Service: Groome Transportation – Reservations required. Call (505) 474-5696. Approximately $46 one-way between ABQ and the hotel. Service operates from 5:15 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
  • Group Charter: RoadRunneR – Reservations required. Call (505) 424-3367.
  • Rideshare: Uber and Lyft – Approximately $125 – $150 one-way.
  • Taxi Service: zTrip – Call (505) 247-8888. Approximately $200 – $250 one-way. Credit cards accepted.

Alternatively, the free ABQ RIDE #50 bus departs from the lower Arrivals Level at the west end of the shuttle island, and connects ABQ to Downtown Albuquerque Station (Alvarado Transportation Center). Attendees can then ride the Rail Runner train from Downtown Albuquerque to Santa Fe Depot. Train schedules can be found here, and one-way Albuquerque-Santa Fe tickets cost $9. ABQ RIDE buses are white and green with iconic New Mexican images on the sides, such as balloons and the Sandia Peak tram. Bus route numbers are visible on the front and side of each bus.

Transportation options to and from Santa Fe Regional Airport (SAF) include: 

  • Hotel Shuttle: To arrange pickup, email 25airporthotelshuttle@gmail.com or call (505) 913-0080. $25 if multiple guests are riding, or $50 for individual riders.
  • Rental Cars: Avis – Call (505) 471-5892. Open 9:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Hertz – Call (505) 471-7189. Open 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Rideshare: Uber and Lyft – Approximately $25 – $50 one-way.
