The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recently unveiled an online tool to help residents, local governments, nonprofits, and businesses identify funding opportunities for projects that mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, reduce costs, and improve air quality. New Jersey Funding One Stop Shop asks users a series of questions about their projects and identifies federal, state, local, and utility funding resources that can help reduce the project costs. Users can select from seven project categories including Building Energy Efficiency, Energy Generation, Industry, Transportation, Education/Workforce, Food Systems/Waste, and Resilience.
The One Stop Shop is the latest in a series of tools to assist New Jersey parties in navigating green projects. These include:
- Interactive mapping tools aimed at supporting solar siting, understanding transportation needs, and learning about climate impacts such as extreme heat, extreme precipitation, and flood risk;
- Targeted toolkits to support the electric vehicle transition in multi-unit dwellings and workplaces, and through eMobility planning;
- Curated resources for incorporating climate education into existing school curricula through lessons, activities, and experiments that can be integrated across subject areas; and
- Information on selecting and using low-cost air monitors, allowing residents to directly monitor their own air quality.
