Partnerships are the DC Department of Energy and the Environment’s (DOEE) key to achieving improvements in water quality in the nation’s capital. For Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week, DOEE is highlighting its citizen science efforts to monitor pollutants in waterways like trash and bacteria. With help from Anacostia Riverkeeper, there are more than 22 sites for volunteer water quality monitoring in the District.
