On the sidelines of the ECOS Fall Meeting in Jackson Hole, officials with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality toured two sites with U.S. EPA Deputy Administrator Davud Fotouhi and others to demonstrate innovative approaches to improving water quality and expanding American energy production.
At the 40-acre Karns Meadow Stormwater Treatment Wetland, leaders viewed a site tackling longstanding water quality challenges by capturing and treating stormwater runoff from Jackson before it enters Flat Creek and the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Officials also visited the Pinedale Anticline Natural Gas Field, one of the largest natural gas fields in the nation, where state and federal leaders are working to ensure environmental progress.
