The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has published its 2025 State of the Environment Report showcasing the agency’s accomplishments over the last year. The report highlights more than just permitting actions, celebrating over 3,860 acres of coal mine land returned to productive post-mining use and the maintenance of federal air quality attainment in the Upper Green River Basin.
“Environmental protection is an ongoing effort,” said DEQ Director Todd Parfitt. “While we are proud of the accomplishments outlined in this report, important challenges remain. We are committed to addressing them with support from our local, state, and federal partners, and other stakeholders.”
