In honor of National Bird Feeder Month, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is promoting ideas for turning your recycling into a bird feeder. Individuals are encouraged to think about the items we throw away each day and to seek creative ways to reuse them.
Suggestions for containers that may be reused to make a bird feeder include milk jugs, milk cartons, coffee cans, pie tins with old mustard jar lids to trace circles and old string, yarn, cloth strips, or baler twine for nesting materials.
