The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has tailored the E-Enterprise for the Environment Tool Be Well Informed for Wisconsin to help owners and users of the over 800,000 private wells in the state understand their drinking water test results. The tool allows private drinking water well owners to enter test results from a certified laboratory to learn whether the water meets public health values for various contaminants.
The Be Well Informed tool is a shared E-Enterprise for the Environment resource that may be customized for state agencies, is hosted by ECOS, and was first developed by New Hampshire DES. By helping private well owners interpret their drinking water test results, the tool can reduce calls to state agencies and help well users make better informed decisions about their drinking water.
The Wisconsin Be Well Informed Tool application was created by the University of Wisconsin Madison Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the University of Wisconsin Madison Division of Extension.
