Across Michigan’s 11,000 inland lakes, conditions are continually changing, and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Lake Water Clarity Dashboard helps track those changes over time.
The interactive tool provides satellite-derived data on water clarity, algal biomass, and lake color for more than 6,000 inland lakes. With six years of water quality data available, the dashboard helps lake managers, local governments, researchers, and lake organizations identify trends and better understand lake health.
Explore the dashboard and the accompanying How-To Guide to learn more about lake conditions across the state.
