In collaboration with other state agencies and counterparts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, & Energy this week observed the first PFAS Awareness Week.
Spurred by proclamations from the Governors of Michigan and Wisconsin, the week featured a range of activities and educational opportunities designed to raise public awareness about the environmental and health risks associated with PFAS chemicals. Programming included nearly a dozen in-person and online events ranging from film screenings to panel discussions to community conversations.
