The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) recently updated its Resource Book designed to assist Parish Offices of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEPs) and other local and state government officials. The resource is meant to guide the public before, during, and after emergencies such as hurricanes, flooding, and other natural disasters.
The book is updated annually and DEQ works to ensure that all Parish OHSEPs have access to the most current documents and information. While hurricane season typically runs from June through November, the resources provided in this guide can be used during any weather-related emergency or disaster event throughout the year. The new 2026 Resource Book can be viewed here.
