A class of 50 industry representatives completed an informative training in Hazardous Waste Introduction and Compliance at the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection late last month. The Division of Compliance Assistance hosted the training, which covered Hazardous Waste Determinations, including common exceptions to the rules, Hazardous Generators and Requirements, Universal Waste, and Special Topics including Pharmaceutical Wastes, Solvent Wipe Rules, Aerosol Can Management, and the Status of Upcoming Regulations.
One of the most common questions posed by the regulated community is what to expect when an inspection is planned at a regulated facility. Compliance assistance trainers took the class through the most common hazardous waste violations, instructing participants on how to avoid the most common hazardous waste compliance pitfalls, and also covering how to respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste.
