The Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment is spotlighting a year of measurable progress in 2025, with accomplishments spanning water quality protection, air permitting, land restoration, and enterprise support.
In 2025, the Office of Water Quality completed 2,688 permit actions and nearly 2,000 compliance actions, while conducting more than 40,000 surface water analyses and analyzing 253 samples from harmful algal blooms. The Office of Air Quality issued 448 permits, carried out over 1,500 compliance evaluations, and distributed $633,900 through its Go RED! Diesel emission reduction assistance program. The Office of Land Resources issued 689 solid waste licenses and invested millions of dollars in leaking storage tank projects, Brownfield assessments and remediation, and tire accountability programs.
The Division of Enterprise Services provided assistance to 62 small businesses, reviewed 124 requests under the National Environmental Policy Act, and certified over 2,300 pieces of recycling equipment.
