On May 3, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality invited community members to the Arizona Science Center for an exciting day of air quality education. Marking the start of Air Quality Awareness Week, the event featured interactive and educational booths designed to increase awareness about air quality. Participants met with air quality scientists and learned about how to access and use real-time air quality data.
Attendees were given an Air Quality Passport with instructions to visit six stations where they learned about air quality issues, how to protect their health, and ways to contribute to cleaner air. After visiting each station, the newly minted air quality experts could make their air quality pledge and spin a prize wheel for exciting giveaways.
