This month, the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency (AS-EPA) announced a Memorandum of Understanding with the American Samoa Community College (ASCC), American Samoa’s only tertiary education institution, to establish an environmental internship program. The program will provide Criminal Justice Department students with supervised, hands-on experience in environmental investigation and compliance.
In addition, AS-EPA and ASCC will collaborate to provide students with guest lectures from AS-EPA experts, conduct joint research projects focused on environmental violations, and develop a new curriculum tailored to environmental law.
