On August 18, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) hosted a successful Underground Storage Tank Assessment and Remediation Conference to provide information on regulations and help protect the state’s groundwater resources. The conference featured presentations by ADEM staff on topics ranging from air requirements for remediation projects to the state’s petroleum National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System general permit.
Representatives of private firms discussed innovative testing techniques and remediation solutions. During breaks, attendees had the opportunity to visit informational displays.
