FOIA coordination and tracking was centralized in the Lansing Central Office with FOIA requests being sent to the appropriate Lansing Central and/or field offices for identification and copying of requested records. External customers can now submit FOIA requests through the DEQ’s web site.

Quality of Life Agencies (QOL; MDEQ, MDNR, MDARD) Human Resources Selection Processes, June 2012: Standardized the selection (hiring) process now that the Human Resources representatives from the three QOL agencies were merged into Civil Service. Automated the selection process requisition and approvals through the NEOGOV application. HR representatives from one QOL agency are able to provide back-up for HR representatives from the other QOL agencies, resulting in faster turnarounds and improved consistency in the selection process across the QOL agencies.
