In this letter to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, ECOS urges Congress to adequately fund the U.S. DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM) cleanup of the nuclear weapons complex in the FY27 budget to protect human health and the environment. The letter shares recent successes at DOE EM sites that demonstrate cleanup progress while noting that a significant work remains to be completed. The letter also notes the past and continuing critical defense work conducted at these sites.
