The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced a more than $267M investment in 31 manufacturing projects through its Reducing Industrial Sector Emissions in Pennsylvania (RISE PA) program. The industrial sector accounts for 30% of the state’s greenhouse gas emissions, and these funds will be used to reduce emissions through electrification, efficiency improvements, low-carbon fuel switching, on-site renewable energy, carbon capture and storage technologies, and more.
RISE PA is funded by U.S. EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants, and includes dedicated award tracks for small-, medium-, and large-scale decarbonization projects. In addition to reducing emissions, the initiative aims to lower energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and support economic growth. See the full list of grant recipients here.
