The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) this month released a free new Missouri Flood & Drought app to raise awareness of such conditions across the state. Developed over a three-year period, the app uses data from MoDNR’s network of streamgages and soil-moisture sensors to display real-time conditions and show how forecasted weather may impact different regions. For example, users can set up notifications for streams in their area to be alerted of vital flooding information so they know to avoid a particular driving route.
The app can be downloaded through app stores. A desktop version is also available. See the app announcement for more information.
