Cybersecurity threats against water and wastewater systems are increasing, and states provide key support to systems to manage risks, enhance resilience, and reduce impacts from cyber attacks. Protecting drinking water supply and wastewater treatment from malicious cyber actors avoids disruptions to services essential to public health, critical infrastucture, and the nation’s economy. States are developing cybersecurity action plans, creating resources for utilities, and implementing innovative approaches to strengthen water cybersecurity.
Through the Water Committee, ECOS shares information including state best practices, available trainings, and resources for vulnerability assessment and technical assistance.
