The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) offers the PA Clean Water Academy, a comprehensive digital training library covering a wide range of water program topics. Developed by the DEP Bureau of Clean Water, the Academy includes courses and training programs on waterway management, wastewater permitting, water quality standards, and more. While some training sessions are restricted to department staff, others are available to the public.
This week, DEP highlighted its video titled The Importance of Pennsylvania Wetlands, part of a broader course on wetland determination. According to the department, wetlands provide essential ecosystem services such as flood control, water purification, wildlife habitat, and carbon storage, and are vital to the health of both the environment and Pennsylvania communities.
