ECOS Announces Election of 2025-26 Officers
Washington, DC — At its recent Fall Meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, ECOS announced the election of officers for 2025-26 – Chris Wells of Mississippi as President, Leah Feldon of Oregon as Vice President, and Rob Singletary of Oklahoma as Secretary-Treasurer. James Kenney of New Mexico rounds out the bipartisan team of officers as Past President.
Wells has chaired the ECOS Compliance Committee and served since 2020 as Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. Feldon, a former Air Committee Chair and current Board Member of the Environmental Research Institute of the States, became Director of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality in 2023 after having previously held the position of Interim Director. The only new officer, Singletary is Chair of the Budget & Management Committee and Vice Chair of the Land & Materials Committee, while having served since 2024 as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. Kenney, who once led the Cross-Media Committee, has co-chaired the Oil & Gas Caucus since 2019, when he became Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Environment Department.
“Our 2025-26 officers bring diverse expertise and perspective to continue leading ECOS forward with bipartisan environmental solutions,” said ECOS Executive Director Ben Grumbles. “Together, they will draw on their significant ECOS and state experience to promote cooperative federalism and shared learning among all of their colleagues with pragmatic and innovative solutions to protect and sustain environmental and public health progress.”
