Environmental Health Forum

ECOS formed the Environmental Health Forum in April 2003 to establish closer links between state health agencies and state environment agencies and to examine possible links between environmental conditions and health outcomes.

The Forum's mission is to:

-Monitor the development of environmental health programs within USEPA, CDC and elsewhere; collaborate with the aforementioned federal agencies and with state associations such as the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials;

-Inform all ECOS members of the status of such efforts and projected events related to them;

-Coordinate ECOS responses, as appropriate, to proposals in this area;

-Advise USEPA, CDC and others as to ways in which such proposals and programs can be made more effective; and

-Share information among ECOS members regarding Environmental Health programs being developed in various States and territories.
