Institutional Controls Roundtable & Training - April 4-6, 2006
ASTSWMO, US EPA, and ICMA are co-sponsoring the Institutional Controls Roundtable & Training on April 4-6,2006 in Tucson, Arizona. The purpose of the IC Roundtable & Training is to provide informational presentations and transferable lessons to help ensure effective identification, evaluation, selection, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and enforcement of institutional controls.

Environmental Covenants
The LUCs Task Group has drafted a resolution on environmental covenants for consideration by the ECOS membership. This draft resolution will be reviewed and voted on in the Spring of 2006. If it is passed by the ECOS membership, it will become one of many resolutions that describe ECOS policy.
New Guidance on Institutional Controls from EPA
In February, EPA published "Institutional Controls: A Citizen's Guide to Understanding Institutional Controls at Superfund, Brownfields, Federal Facilities, Underground Storage Tank, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Cleanups".
Meeting February 2-3, 2005
At a meeting in Washington, DC on February 2-3, 2005, the LUCs Task Group heard presentations from numerous other people who have worked on LUCs issues.

Land Use Control Strategic Plan
During its first several meetings, the LUCs task group worked on its strategic plan for addressing the issue. The strategic plan attached below was presented to ECOS at its 2004 Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City.
